Ranking Campaign Planner
Plan, fund, track and kill single-keyword exact-match ranking campaigns. One campaign is one keyword on one ASIN. The budget comes from your conversion rate and the keyword's purchase volume, not from a number you feel like spending.
How to run a ranking push without lying to yourself
- Break-even ACOS equals your contribution margin percentage, not 100%.
- Cap ranking campaigns in dollars, not in ACOS percentage. A percentage cap has no floor.
- TACOS is the health metric during a ranking push. ACOS only sees the ads.
- Negate the target keyword as negative exact in every other campaign, or velocity splits across campaigns and attribution breaks.
- Use one rank source for the whole campaign. Crawler rank varies by tool, location and time of day.
- Check the search term report weekly. Amazon exact match still pulls plurals, misspellings, reordered words and other languages.
- Log weekly, not daily. Amazon attribution lags 2 to 14 days, so a daily read is a reaction to incomplete data.
- Do not use Unit Session Percentage from Business Reports as your CVR. It is blended across branded and non-branded traffic, so it overstates CVR on a cold head term and understates the budget you need.
